The Design

The design features traditional Bambara motifs – chevrons, zig-zags, lines, and diamond forms – arranged in repeating vertical panels. Made by Mali artisans using the centuries-old bogolan technique. 100% cotton cloth is handwoven, then fermented in mud baths and dyed with natural plant-based pigments. The mud resists the indigo dye, leaving the white patterns behind. No two pieces are ever exactly the same – the slight variations are what make it real.
